Why is Hydrocortisone Butyrate used?

Hydrocortisone butyrate is used topically to treat a variety of skin conditions, including:

Eczema of all types.

Itchy dermatitis.

Atopic dermatitis.

Psoriasis.

Do not use Hydrocortisone Butyrate:

If you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

If your skin condition is caused by an infection (athlete's foot, herpes, etc.).

If you have skin problems associated with syphilis (a sexually transmitted disease) or tuberculosis.

To treat perioral dermatitis.

To treat pimples (acne).

If you have facial skin redness.

Warnings and Precautions:

Tell your doctor about all your health conditions, including:

If you will be using it on your face or sensitive areas.

If you are using it on large areas of your skin.

If you are using it on skin folds or under coverings (such as bandages).

If you are using it to treat psoriasis, it should be used for a short period of time.

Possible Side Effects

Stop using this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; itching; red, blistering, or peeling skin; tightness in the chest or throat; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. The frequency with which these side effects occur is unknown.

Side effects include:

Thinning, reddening, stretching, and discoloration of the skin.

Suppression of stress hormone secretion.

Blurred vision.

Other medications and hydrocortisone butyrate.

Tell your doctor about all the medications you take.

How to use hydrocortisone butyrate.

This medication is suitable for adults and children.

This medication is for external use.

Use this medication as directed by your doctor.

Wash your hands before and after use.

Apply a thin layer to the affected area and massage it in gently.

Apply to the affected area once or twice daily, but no more often.

How to Store Hydrocortisone Butyrate

Store at room temperature below 77°F (25°C).

Keep this medication out of reach of children.

Do not use this medication after the expiration date printed on the carton.
